About Barbie
Thank you for your interest in getting to know a little bit about me. First and foremost, family is everything to me. I’m happily married for over 17 years and am the proud mom of two incredible children ages 15 and 11. My family centers me and is the driving force behind everything I do - including my decision to run for Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District (THPRD) Director position #3.
My family has benefitted from the many resources offered and provided by THPRD for over 15 years. We’ve enjoyed everything from learning to dance and playing sports, to summer camps and swimming, and of course countless trips to our favorite parks and trails. It is this deep and genuine appreciation for the critical role THPRD plays in our community that inspires me to give back by serving on the Board of Directors.
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and upon graduation, took the big leap and moved to New York City to attend New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. After earning my B.F.A., I moved to Hollywood, where I ultimately met my husband and began my professional career in Sales and Marketing. We moved to Beaverton in 2004 to be near family and to start our own family.
Currently, I lead the Global Product Marketing team at Columbia Sportswear. It is a real joy to be a part of the outdoors industry, where the primary focus is getting people outside! I’m thrilled to be able to leverage my professional experience in conjunction with my lived experience as a working mother to the Board of Directors.
